Foo Fighters Bring Rock Back To Madison Square Garden, With An Appearance By Dave Chappelle
The Foo Fighters brought rock back to New York City last night, playing Madison Square Garde’s first rock concert since the pandemic locked the city down, and man it was a great, and emotional night of rock and roll.
The band kicked things off with their classic “Times Like These,” with the set featuring such hits as “The Pretender,” “Learn To Fly,” “Breakout,” “Monkey Wrench,” “This is a Call,” “The Best Of You,” “One By One,” and of course, “My Hero” and “Everlong.” They also performed several tracks from their new album “Medicine at Midnight,” including the title track, “Shame Shame,” “No Son of Mine” and “Making A Fire. They even broke out a few album tracks like “Alandria,” “Aurora,” “One of These Days” and more.
And of course the night was filled with some surprises, including a guest appearance by comedian Dave Chappelle, who sang Radiohead’s “Creep” much to the crowd’s delight. Taylor Hawkins came out from behind the drum kit to perform Queen’s “Somebody To Love” and the Foos debuted a track from their upcoming Dee Gees recording, a cover of the Bee Gees classic “You Should Be Dancing.”
