Pearl Jam Release Uncensored “Jeremy” for Gun Violence Awareness

Due to TV censorship laws in 1992, Pearl Jam was never able to release the uncensored version of the music video for “Jeremy.” But due to the abundance of gun violence that has happened since that time, the band felt the need to finally release it.

The uncensored version was released on Friday, which was National Gun Violence Awareness Day. The music video shows the story of a teenage boy who is bullied to the point that he resorts to shooting himself in front of his classmates.

In the original music video, the suicide is insinuated rather than shown. In the uncensored version, Jeremy, who is played by Trevor Wilson, is shown putting the gun in his mouth.
