Marilyn Manson Covers The Doors

Marilyn Manson Covers The Doors

Marilyn Manson won’t only be starring in the new miniseries adaptation of Stephen King’s “The Stand,” he’s also lending the show some tunes. The rocker has released a new single, his rendition of The Doors classic “The End.”

The song originally appeared on The Doors’ 1967 debut self-titled album, and “The Stand” isn’t the first soundtrack it’s appeared on. The Doors’ original version was famously used in the opening scene of Francis Ford Coppola’s 1979 film “Apocalypse Now.”

“The End” has joined the handful of covers Manson has released over the course of his career. That includes rocking rendition of “Tainted Love” by Soft Cell, “Sweet Dreams” by Eurythmics, and his latest release before “The End,” Manson’s take on the traditional folk song “God’s Gonna Cut You Down.”
