“Jeopardy!” Says Goodbye to Alex Trebek

“Jeopardy!” Says Goodbye to Alex Trebek

The Alex Trebek era officially came to an end on “Jeopardy” on Friday. After the regular game ended, they aired a 90-second montage that featured his best vintage moments, infamous contestant quips, and that smile through the years, set to Peter Allen’s “Once Before I Go.”

The producers released the tribute early on Twitter and YouTube so we could savor it just a big longer. You can see it on the right.

Alex – who succumbed to pancreatic cancer in November – is survived by wife Jean Trebek, their two children Emily and Matthew and Nicky, whom he helped raise when he was married to ex-wife Elaine Trebek Kare. Nicky, who works as a production coordinator on the show, took to The ‘Gram to pay tribute after the episode aired. “You were extraordinary!!!” adding the hashtags #JeopardyForever and #WeMissYouDad.
