Foo Fighters Play First Show Since Pandemic To Help Independent Venues

Foo Fighters were back on stage together this weekend for the first time since the coronavirus hit. The band played a 30-minute set at the Troubadour in Los Angeles as part of the three-day #SaveOurStages fest, which aimed to shed a light on the struggles of independent music venues which have been closed since March due to the coronavirus.

The acoustic set kicked off with “Skin and Bones,” and was followed with hits like “My Hero,” “These Days,” “Times Like These” and “Everlong.”

The band also shared memories of seeing shows at the Troubadour. “These memories and these experiences that we had here were life-changing and formative experiences that inspired us to play music,” Dave Grohl shared. “I can only imagine there are millions and millions of other people just like us that have done the same and it’s made their lives a better place.”

He added, “So it’s crucial that we do everything we can to make sure these venues survive in order to be there to inspire the next generation of musicians to go on and do beautiful things with their lives, like make music.”
