David Bowie was honored by his friends, collaborators and colleagues with a special livestream over the weekend. Trent Reznor, Billy Corgan, Duran Duran and more performed the virtual concert held on what would have been the late music legend’s 74th birthday.
Trent, along with his wife Mariqueen Maandig and Nine Inch Nails bandmate Atticuss Ross, covered “Fantastic Voyage” and “Fashion.” The Smashing Pumpkins frontman played “Space Oddity,” Duran Duran covered “Five Years,” and the late legend’s close friend Gary Oldman sang “I Can’t Read” by Tin Machine.
Performers also included Slipknot’s Corey Taylor, Foo Fighters’ Taylor Hawkins, and Jane’s Addiction’s Dave Navarro and Chris Chaney, who covered “Hang On To Yourself.” Other participants included Adam Lambert, Boy George, Peter Frampton, Perry Farrell, Tony Visconti, and members of Bowie’s final touring band like Mike Garson, Earl Slick, Sterling Campbell and Catherine Russell.
